Operation Allies Refuge, or the OAR, was a United States military operation to airlift certain at-risk Afghan civilians, particularly interpreters, U.S. embassy employees, and other prospective Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants from Afghanistan during the final days of the 2001–2021 War in Afghanistan. It was a mission that should have had way more coverage in the United States. Sit down with me to hear all about my first hand experience with this mission while being overseas in Spain.

This week I talk about the difference between sharing your emotions and complaining. I will also talk about how we can complain more effectively and offer ways we can give better feedback to a friend or colleague who comes to us with complaints.

Let me catch you up on all the rollercoaster of emotions that I went through while moving from Spain to Hawaii. No trip ever goes as planned but especially when I am moving across the country! I talk about how I didn’t leave on the scheduled date and the hassle of trying to change my flight to the appropriate date. I share all the juicy details of carrying out and planning the big move and then landing 8,020 miles at my new destination on an island. Most importantly I catch you up on what life has been like on the island.

This is the fourth and last in the series of 4 meditations! Learn how to use simple visualization and breath work to focus on the moment on this beautiful new day. You will feel so centered with your breath. 
 
In this meditation there will be longer silences and you may notice your mind wandering. So all you have to do is just keep bringing it back to the breath and notice where your thoughts are trying to take you and just come back to center. Once you master this, you can meditate any time, anywhere.

This is going to be a series of 4 meditations! This starts the first one but you can do them in whatever order you choose to. As a survivor I struggled with being present and in my body. I struggled with discovering my body and who I am, so I really wanted to create these as resources for you. In this meditation we will practice being present which is the key to meditation. Upon practicing this, it will invite you to more mindful living.
 
Through this practice and with focused attention you can implement this more and more into your everyday life. And you can become a more peaceful and stable being. 
 
When you unlock the door to meditation, you also open the door to life.
